March 27 2019Québec City, March 27, 2019 – Micro Logic, the Quebec IT infrastructure solutions specialist, announces that its Cloud division—Projet Cirrus—now holds the attestation issued by the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type I audit.
The SOC 2 standard was developed in 2010 by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SOC 2 is based on the AICPA Trust Services Criteria and describes specific security and privacy controls. It is a compliance standard increasingly used by businesses as part of their service contracts with cloud providers like Projet Cirrus.

Projet Cirrus can now provide this report to its cloud solutions clients, guaranteeing that both their data and their processes are protected. The SOC 2 certification shows that Projet Cirrus has complied with all the requirements of the SOC standard and that the status of these controls has been checked by an independent auditor. The attestation is an ongoing process; the auditors carry out controls every year and identify areas for improvement.
The advantages of cloud computing for businesses are clear, but how to make the transition is trickier, and in line with this, security is one of the main concerns of businesses and organizations. It is not easy to assess a provider’s vulnerabilities. In this framework, the SOC 2 certification is especially important, since it guarantees not only the security of data, but also its availability, integrity and confidentiality. This last point is all the more vital in the particular context of critical data hosted by organizations such as professional orders, health institutions and public bodies.
